God Most Faithful

Updated: Jul 29, 2019

Notes (also published in the current yearbook) from Principal Susan Null as the 2018-19 school year concludes. We wish her wonderful things in whatever the Lord has next for her!

Our yearbook cover says that Windsor is “Grounded in Christ and Rooted in Scripture.” Why?

Because of God’s promises.

On November 6, 2018, I was with some students in the back parking lot of Windsor when we saw this beautiful rainbow that spanned Windsor’s property. While this rainbow lasted only a couple of minutes, it was a beautiful picture of God’s lasting promise to Noah and all future generations.

The Bible is full of God’s promises. In chapel we have seen how God promised a messiah. This year we focused on the historical books. In 2 Samuel 7:16 God promises that David’s “throne shall be established forever.” God’s promise to David is fulfilled in Jesus, who is our eternal king descended from David.

We are grounded in Christ because Jesus is our rock (1 Corinthians 10:4). It is our hope that a Christian education gives children a strong foundation for their life, so that each child who attends Windsor knows Jesus’ loves and that he has given his life to redeem and forgive each of them. We hope that each child who builds his or her life on the rock of Jesus will withstand the difficulties of the secular world (Matthew 7:24-27).

A child who is rooted in scripture will be nourished and and strengthened by God’s promises. This year we memorized Isaiah 53. It is a beautiful picture of the prophecy that Jesus would be “pierced for our transgressions” and “crushed for our iniquities.” It is by “his wounds we are healed.” Hiding this scripture in our hearts gives great comfort to a believer’s soul.

Finally, Jesus promises his love for children when he says, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14).

These promises are why there is a school in Windsor Baptist Church: so children will know Jesus as their savior, redeemer, and friend today, the rest of their lives, and eternally.
